Lou’s Story: Rebuilding Strength After Stroke

Rehabilitation & Return to Sport | TruAgility + TruSlide in Action

Finding His Way Back

When Shawn first met Lou M., he was two and a half years into recovering from a stroke.

Nearly fully functional — but not fully himself — Lou carried a quiet urgency. As a devoted husband and father, his goal was simple and deeply human:

“I need to get back to being me… so I can be there for my wife and kids.”

Movement as Motivation

From day one, Lou brought intensity and heart to every session. You never had to convince him to work harder or try something new — he showed up ready.

As part of his comeback, Lou explored different TruAgility™ configurations and used the TruSlide™ regularly to rebuild strength, balance, and confidence. The tools became part of his daily routine, both in the gym and at home — he even purchased a TruSlide™ so he could train on his own and teach his kids how to move with intention.

Strength, Consistency, and Grit

Today, Lou is nearly back to 100%.

He plays basketball weekly in a men’s league and recently climbed all 103 floors of the Willis Tower — raising funds for the rehab hospital that supported his recovery.

His journey is a reminder that progress isn’t about speed — it’s about showing up, staying committed, and trusting your own resilience.
